“Is it ever going to heal??”
“Is there anything that can fill this void??” A friend asked after losing her brother in an accident.
There was deafening silence between us for an infinity.
I took a deep breath. I couldn’t lie to her. I said “No sweetheart. I wish I could tell you otherwise. You have to live with this blank space”
We have come to a point where we have to embrace the hardest truth of our lives; we are not immortal, everybody will leave.
People weave together to create a gigantic tapestry of life that hangs right in front of us and stares at us all the time.
When somebody leaves, they take away their share with them.
It depends what they mean to us.
Some of them take away barely a Trace of a thread, some take the most integral pattern with them.
Nothing can fill an empty space…nothing!
New people will come and stitch their own share of art to form a entirely new design…but they won’t fill the gaps…nothing overlaps.
I hope I am making any sense at all.
That’s how I perceive it.
You have to live with this ever changing tapestry with its voids… its flaws…its intricacy…
And you have to welcome new additions.
You have to give them a new place of their own… so that they can bring innovation to your life rather than expect them to fill a void, ending up ruining their exclusivity and doing injustice to your own tapestry.

Beautifully stated. Love the tapestry image with the message that no one can take someone else’s place.

I love this analogy and you are exactly right. It’s also a reminder of ourselves and knowing how WE weave ourselves into others lives. That includes a blogging community. We all know nothing about each other and have woven ourselves into each other’s lives. One I am so grateful for. Really like this. Keep on keepin’ on.

It feels so good when somebody add a new dimention to your post.
Yes blogging community is indeed a tapestry itself.
Thanks for this thoughtful comment 🙂

I lost my dad earlier this year, and I cried as I read your words. I love this! No one can take away what has already been woven–the beauty of the memories. The void comes in the space after. Thank you for this beautiful metaphor. ❤️
