Well my insomnia made a block buster come back last night…
Thanks to this guy-> Nitesh for tolerating my dopiness induced buffoonery.
This reminded me of something I have been delaying since ions…that is to talk about “fight club”.
I know we are breaking first two rules of the fight club, but we are going to talk about the movie…I hope it’s not real!!
First of all I freaking love this movie …EVERY SINGLE ATOM OF IT!!!
And I love Edward Norton!
I always open a word file on the side to save any line worth quoting … but I closed the window 5 minutes into the movie as entire script is incomparable. I rewatched it today and I don’t think I will ever grow tired of this movie, especially first half of it.
It was released in 1999, but this is one of those movies that stay relevant forever.
Its remarkable yet intimidating portrayal of consumerism, lifestyle obsession, social slavery and the mindless rat race that drains us empty.
How we wear a mask of what people want to look at and in process suffocate our dreams, that deep down grow up into a hideous version of our own selves. And when eventually it reaches the boiling point, devastation is bound to unleash.
Another major aspect of the movie is insomnia which is masterfully intertwined into the story.
I have been insomniac since the beginning…I literally remember how I would stay awake whole night when I must be 8 to 10 years of age.
This is one reason this movie is “me” in a lot of ways. Watching a perfect representation of what I have been feeling but could never explain, is comforting.
The moment you start going against natural clock shit starts to soar towards the fan, add frustration to the equation and you have the perfect recipe for disaster.
If you haven’t watched this movie, you must, at least once. It’s a loaded cannon, shooting Thorny reality checks at you.
Here’s a sneak peek into this theater of mass destruction.
Important Notes: Before watching please check its rating and suitability according to your age and preference.
