Please be sensible and responsible!

I’m writing in draft straight because this is one of vulnerable times.

This is important post!

I will try to keep it short tho.

We all know what’s going on in the whole world right now this is one thing everyone knows about. Our attitudes might be different but problem is the same.

I urge you guys here to behave like responsible citizens.

I have been talking to folks in Dubai, US, Australia and I am in Karachi, Pakistan right now province Sindh which has been hit worse than the other parts of the country.

And things are bad everywhere.

It’s a virus, it’s spreading at an insane speed. And it’s going to get worse.

It’s not generally life threatening for everyone but it’s worse for people with compromised immune system (people already ill) and who are old.

I’m worried about babies, too.

People are looking at stats and comparing it to other illnesses. Guys! It’s live right now you can’t have a final number right now.

I have restricted my sources of information or I will go mad.

You can have different opinion of this pandemic, but we are facing other problems that are associated with humanity.

Hoarding stuff like crazy, panic buying.. somebody needs to stop these people and shake them a little to wake them up..this is fucking crazy!

I get it things can send you in panic, we aren’t having a good time either but u are buying for 100 people to last for 100 years are you out of your fucking mind!!

Here, I can’t find a simple dettol disinfectant spray that is always sitting at my headboard. It was priced at Rs. 500 approx and now I saw it priced at more than Rs. 1500 and due to busy delivery slots I couldn’t even order that.

Stores are hiding sanitizers and disinfectants to sell them at higher prices later.

How could you exploit a situation like this.

Dad was telling us to bring basic groceries to last for at least 2 to 3 months max. We have a big family we try to stock and it vanishes. Still we aren’t buying 50kgs of rice as it’s going to do bigger harm.

Panic buying results in mass public panic (how many times am I going to use this word here no idea).

When you see someone running looking afraid of something, you start running too. That’s how it is.

Secondly. You are creating food shortage. What’s everyone else going to eat and you could be throwing your extra groceries in the end when you realise you dont even need that much.

Act sensible for the love of God!

Refer to general guidelines issued by who or some authentic body on how to stay safe and clean through out.

Avoid unnecessary interactions.

Stay clean and eat well.

Wash your hands and don’t touch your face.

As I have been on immunosuppressants for 2.5 years, I had to take extra care as i could catch anything easily.

I try to keep everything I touch often clean. Doorknobs and handles, taps, my mobile, laptops keyboard.

I have sanitizer in my bag with a small pack of disinfectant wipes (crazy, I know).

All of this is part of my life so it’s not new for me I wash my hands obsessive amount since i was a kid (family says I could be having OCD) but all of this obsession is helpful in times like these.

I’m not saying all of this can keep you safe a 100% but what’s the harm in taking a sensible approach when it’s officially a global pandemic?

Why are we sitting having weddings and all here when Government has time and again told not do have gatherings.

Why dont we listen.

Malls are closing here tomorrow so I went to get some urgent stuff and honestly there were very few people, and I was happy to see that people are getting cautious.

I’m not saying it’s going to wipe out human race but open your eyes for God’s sake. It has been taking lives.

Do not freak out (it’s hard I know) but try to follow that instructions for your own safety and safety of your loved ones.

In the end these are scary times.

Fear is one of the worst challenges of people living with mental disorders. It’s a big test for them. Just be there. Don’t hug them! Just mentally and emotionally be there.

Do not belittle their concerns, do not hurt them by mentioning and blaming there mental health for their concerns.

Be kind to everyone.

Imagine we all are one big family and things will get easier. You don’t want your family to starve, you dont want to risk health of your family by not taking simple precautions.

Take special care of your parents. They gave us all they had it’s our duty to protect them and care for them.

Overall be kind, be sensible and make rational decisions.

That’s all.

Stay safe!
